Quick answers to common questions about iam-vetted.
For Workers
13 questionsWhat does iam-vetted actually do?
iam-vetted is a marketplace where you can store and share references such as your DVLA share code, Right to Work reference, and DBS certificate number. We do not verify, certify, or guarantee any of these references. We present them in a structured format and provide links to official government services so employers can carry out their own checks.
Why should I add my references?
You can reuse your references across multiple employers without resubmitting them each time. Employers searching in your area may find your profile, and you remain in control of what you share and when.
Is my data safe?
We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest. We act as a data controller for your profile data and process it in line with UK data protection law. We do not sell your personal data. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to complain if you are unhappy with how it is handled (see below).
Who can see my information?
Before unlock, employers see limited profile details, such as role, experience, and outward postcode. After unlock, employers can contact you by email and view your submitted references. A subscription adds additional contact options, such as phone. Your full address is never shared.
What happens when my DVLA share code expires?
We will notify you before expiry. If it is not updated within 30 days after expiry, your profile will be hidden from search until updated.
Can I delete my profile?
Yes. When you request deletion, your profile is hidden immediately. It is permanently deleted after 30 days, unless required for legal or compliance purposes. You can cancel deletion within that period.
Do I need a subscription?
No. The free tier lets you appear in search, and employers can contact you by email once they unlock your profile. A subscription adds additional contact options, employer activity insights, expiry alerts, and profile tools, shown clearly before purchase.
What if I do not have all checks?
You can still create a profile. Having more references may improve visibility in search results.
How will my profile appear in employer search results?
Employer search returns worker profiles that match the filters the employer has applied (such as region, vehicle type, and availability). The platform does not rank, score, or evaluate workers. The order in which matching profiles are shown is determined by deterministic, non-AI rules (availability, then recency). You can update your profile at any time to keep your declared information current.
Can I change my name on my profile?
Your name can be updated freely until your profile is activated. Once you have submitted all three verification references (DVLA, Right to Work, and DBS), your legal name is locked. This prevents mismatches between your name and your official references. If your legal name genuinely changes (for example, following marriage or a deed poll), contact hello@iam-vetted.com with updated official documentation.
What does the regional workforce demand signal show me?
The workforce demand signal gives Basic and Premium subscribers a rough estimate of employer activity in their region. It is based on self-declared information from employers and is shown as a range rather than an exact figure. The signal only appears once at least five employers from your region have provided demand estimates. Below that threshold, no figure is displayed. This is a context signal only. iam-vetted does not arrange employment or act as an intermediary in hiring decisions.
What if I don't have my own insurance?
There are four recognised insurance states on iam-vetted: Hire and reward (own policy), Carrier top-up insurance, Both, and Not yet arranged. Selecting Carrier top-up insurance or Not yet arranged does not require any further policy details. Just select the option that reflects your current position. Selecting Hire and reward (own policy) or Both requires your insurer name and policy number. Employers who unlock your profile see whichever state you have declared.
How can I raise a complaint?
You can contact us at hello@iam-vetted.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and aim to resolve it promptly. If you are not satisfied, you have the right to escalate your complaint to the UK Information Commissioner.
For Employers
10 questionsDoes iam-vetted verify worker credentials?
No. iam-vetted does not verify, validate, or guarantee any worker credentials. Workers provide their own references, and you must independently verify them using the official government services linked on the platform.
What am I paying for?
A credit allows you to unlock a worker profile and access their contact details, submitted references, and links to official verification services. You are paying for access to information, not verification.
When am I charged?
A credit is used when you choose to unlock a worker's profile. This applies to any worker, regardless of whether they have a subscription.
How reliable are the references?
References are self-submitted by workers. We apply basic format checks and timestamps, but we do not confirm accuracy. You must verify each reference yourself.
What if a reference expires?
Workers are prompted to update references before expiry. Expired references lead to profile removal from search. If you have already unlocked a worker, you may be notified.
Are refunds available?
As access to the worker's information is provided immediately upon unlock, refunds are not standard. You can contact support for review in exceptional cases.
How does search work?
You can search using natural-language descriptions or explicit filters. When you use natural language, AI-assisted parsing converts your description into structured filters (such as region, vehicle type, availability, licence category, and carrier). The platform then returns profiles that match those filters. The AI does not rank, score, or evaluate workers.
How do I meet my legal obligations?
You are responsible for verifying all worker credentials. Following the official GOV.UK links provided helps you meet your obligations, but iam-vetted does not fulfil those obligations on your behalf.
Can I cancel my account?
Yes. Your account is hidden immediately and deleted after 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
How can I raise a complaint?
Contact hello@iam-vetted.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You may escalate to the Information Commissioner if unresolved.
